Saben x NZTE | David Jones DISCOVER NEW Showcase
On July 6th Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern opened the New Zealand Trade & Enterprise DISCOVER NEW showcase at David Jones' Elizabeth St boutique.
Saben was invited to be one of the businesses chosen by NZTE to highlight the movers and shakers in the New Zealand fashion and design industry.
As part of the ‘Discover New’ showcase, Level 8 of David Jones Elizabeth Street, Sydney will be transformed into a gallery exhibiting the best of New Zealand brands, with Saben proudly carrying the torch for the luxury accessories category.
Throughout July and early August, Level 8 of David Jones Elizabeth St has been transformed into a curated shopping experience for customers to discover the creme de la creme of New Zealand design. There you will find the Global Premier of Saben's Spring / Summer 22 collection SOUL SISTERS. Craft loving fashionistas will rejoice at the collection with silhouettes ranging from mini, midi to maxi will be just at home on the beach or the city streets this summer. In a colour palette inspired by the enduring calm of nature, in the form of parchment, tan, ivy and terracotta sitting alongside perennial black.
While designing the collection, Roanne's goal was to honour the craft and bring the collection to life as a wearable piece of art. The result is a deeply meaningful edit of hand-made, wearable artworks, designed to be used as a talisman to give the wearer the strength to take on the day, whatever may come their way.
Roanne Jacobson is hosting a trunk show, the global premier of Saben’s Spring Summer collection at David Jones Elizabeth St boutique on Sunday July 24th. Tickets are strictly limited and available to purchase via David Jones.
After 20 years as New Zealand’s market leading accessories brand, Jacobson is using the showcase as an opportunity to plant a flag in the sand, launching her brand to the Australian market. Following two years of monumental growth in New Zealand, Jacobson decided it’s time for new opportunities in her home city of Sydney.
“After 2 years of uncertainty, the decision to take on the Australian luxury goods market is one we didn’t want to miss. When these opportunities present themselves, you don’t say no. Reaching our 20th birthday, we’re on the cusp of the next chapter for our brand, not to mention an exciting milestone for me personally. The timing feels right.” says Jacobson.
